The Performance Engineer is responsible for monitoring and diagnosing equipment and performance issues for AES wind generation facilities using EtaPRO's Advanced Pattern Recognition (APR) and other analytical software. Collects, processes, and analyzes data for plant performance metrics and assessment reports (e.g. monthly KPI reports, variable margin loss analysis, etc.). **Primary Job Responsibilities:** + Develop, maintain, and use APR software models and plant operational data to detect changes in the operating behavior of plant equipment and systems. + Perform daily monitoring of site critical components that have installed models actively collecting data using sophisticated analytics software. + Respond, evaluate, and prioritize alarms for potential equipment-related issues, get along with station personnel, and provide recommendations to optimize plant equipment and systems. + Support and work with component Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assess equipment anomalies. + Monitor equipment performance and predict component health, alerting SMEs and site personnel of anomalies within those trends that could adversely affect the reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance of equipment. + Communicate equipment anomalies to plant operations, engineering personnel and plant technical analysts. + Work with power plant staff to troubleshoot and resolve operational problems identified by the performance software models + Identify and classify associated risks to the plant, provide recommendations to mitigate risks, and follow up to ensure resolutions are tracked through to completion. + Develop technical assessments/analyses that will improve operational performance and reliability to meet operational targets or understand the deviations from it. + Provides analysis in areas such as KPI performance against targets & goals + Update, retrain, and evaluate the adequacy of existing analytic and performance software models. + Capture and quantify avoided costs to express the value of team activities.
