This person will be responsible for the oversight of various design projects in the Body Electronics division, as well as other special projects. This role with require communication with project counterparts in Japan each day to ensure all teams are up to speed. This position will work cross functionally with all design teams to become the subject matter expert on all product design in North America and look for different ways to reduce the cost of product by redesigning the product or looking for other sources/vendors. The other responsibilities of this role will vary each day and can include performing analysis of circuit hardware & software, doing any planning required before new product launches, reviewing electrical drawings and schematics, identifying and troubleshooting any engineering or systems improvements that need to be made and leading Design for Manufacturing (DFM) studies. Additionally, this role will travel to customer/OEM sites to test electronic systems and be expected to communicate with suppliers and customers on a regular basis. This role is going to be leading the charge of the production of a product never built before and will travel to the sister plant site at least 1 time weekly to oversee the productivity.
