Job DescriptionSUMMARY: Systems Infrastructure/Controls Engineers research, design, and own the development of equipment used to control systems, processes, and machinery and collect performance data for information analysis. They provide technical support for special processes and operations for current production product and for new product and process development. This role interacts with a large cross section of the Thermo Fisher Employee base inclusive of hourly line workers, team leads, shift supervisors, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, design engineers, maintenance and site leadership. RESPONSIBLE FOR: • Develop new control and monitoring systems. And extend start-up support and training for team members of those systems.• Collaborate with manufacturing and design teams to eliminate control systems issues and handle systems infrastructure projects. • Build and implement communication systems for manufacturing. • Conduct pre-start up equipment walks to validate installation. REQUIREMENTS/Qualificatin: • BS Engineering (EE, IE, ME) or BS Computer Science degree or higher preferred. • 5-7 years of experience in a related field. • Technical proficiency in some software applications, PLC/SCADA logic.• Knowledgeable in sophisticated data collection, measuring, analysis, improvement and control.• Excellent prioritization, time management, and social skills.• Strong cause-effect analytical abilities in problem solving. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ANDRITZ HYDRO USA operates in a niche market that provides overhaul and rehabilitation to hydro power plants. The work encompasses a wide range of repair, replacement and improvement services to restore dependability and sustainability to hydro power facilities, or to increase capacity and/or efficiency. Projects range in size and scope, but routinely span from component assessment, design, and procurement to site installation and commissioning. Duties: Inspects parts, assemblies and finished products in accordance with contract and corporate specifications; follow company's inspection guidelines to conduct visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials in the US and abroad. Represent Andritz Hydro's interests and communicate effectively with clients and vendors in a respectful and professional manner. Prepare and maintain quality records and inspection reports. Investigate and document the root cause of non-conformances. Conduct problem solving and resolution, collaborating with vendors, engineering, project management, and customers. Develop, implement, apply and/or witness NDT techniques and procedures. Apply knowledge of Supplier Quality Engineering methodologies and NDT methods for input to design reviews, failure analysis, quality program plans and construction documentation. Develop and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, subcontractors and co-workers. Inspection duties may include up to 90% travel. Qualifications: A BS degree in engineering (preferably in mechanical, electrical or material science) A minimum of 5 years of experience in the hydropower industry or equivalent experience in an industrial construction environment. NDT/NDE related technical experience OR Associate Degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. 5+ years of experience in the hydropower industry preferred or an equivalent education and experience in an industrial construction or manufacturing environment. CWI or possess the education and experience required to qualify for certification and a working knowledge of ASME and AWS Codes. NDT/NDE related technical experience and/or qualified to pass Level 2 certification in RT, UT, PT, and/or MT is a plus. Laser metrology experience with machined parts is a plus. Ability and experience with typical equipment, such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, oscilloscopes, component testers and the like. MS office suite compatible for correspondence and reporting. Competences A working knowledge of ASME, AWS, CSA and ISO Codes. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement procedures and programs. Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with good judgment. Good problem-solving, analytical & communication skill Proven ability to creatively overcome problems and work with minimal supervision. Ability and experience with typical equipment, such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, oscilloscopes, component testers and the like. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, complex engineering drawings and procedure manuals.
