Individual will be required to spend few weeks at Bedford, MA site as a part of onboarding process to gain process knowledge to be a successful in this role for new Colorado Springs Manufacturing facility. Ability to prioritize short term needs of day-to-day production environment along with long term deliverables and timelines. What We Seek: Bachelor’s degree in chemical/materials/polymer engineering or related technical discipline Minimum of 2 -3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a significant amount of that time successfully leading processes and / or continuous improvement related initiatives. Familiar with Statistical data analysis, Statistical Process Control, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Validation & Qualification processes Must have both strong hands-on experience and analytical problem-solving skills Must have some flexibility in work schedule during initial start-up to meet the demands of project schedule. After plant start-up is complete, expect schedule to return to normal business hours Outstanding Candidates Will Have: Experience in lean manufacturing and/or six sigma certifications would be a plus Experience in membrane manufacturing, polymer twin-screw extrusion, web handling or thin film processing or non-woven manufacturing processes Data analysis with MINITAB or similar statistical software would be a plus.Physical DemandsThis job requires the ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The job is hands-on, the engineers are expected to be able to perform all tasks that operators would perform and use this intimate knowledge of process to make it as efficient and safe as possible. This is a manufacturing environment. It involves exposure to chemicals, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock and moderate to high noise levels.
