POSITION SUMMARY Perform complex troubleshooting, specialized tests, inspections, and appraisals on electrical apparatus and electrical systems. Technically support a Region of service engineers. Position may be mentally demanding, requiring a high level of tolerance and concentration on several projects and activities at once. The Senior Field Engineer position requires little or no direct supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform complex troubleshooting, specialized tests, inspections, and appraisals on electrical apparatus and electrical systems. Test and troubleshoot complex electrical systems, complex UPS/Battery systems and all types of power metering. Lead large projects requiring specialized skills such as UPS acceptance tests, commissioning of larger DC Systems, supervising "turnkey" projects, detailed power survey and other types of electrical consultation. Instrumental in developing tests and inspections in new areas of field services. Troubleshooting capabilities use of AC/DC load-banks and power quality recording instrumentation, all testing/troubleshooting equipment associated with UPS, Charger, and Battery testing. Description:Jaxon Engineering is looking for an entry to mid-level Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. Jaxon is a distinguished leader in electromagnetic pulse (EMP) hardening and survivability. We evaluate and design EMP-hardened systems and facilities and deliver high quality technical services. Jaxon is the only company able to offer turnkey EMP shielding products and services to our Department of Defense and commercial customers. Jaxon is seeking an electrical engineer to support research and development work at its headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. This role will be responsible for designing and conducting tests on a variety of components to support defense against high altitude EMP (HEMP) events for various government, military, and commercial customers. The role will also include regular interfacing with customers, program management, engineers, and corporate leadership, and the successful candidate will be an effective, considerate, and confident team player. Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Dept. of Defense Secret and/or Top Secret security clearance Salary: $72,500-$110,000 Benefits (all effective 1st day of work; no waiting period): Excellent medical, dental and vision insurance Life insurance at 2.5 times annual base salary providedShort & Long Term Disability insurance providedPTO and paid holidays 401(k) match (up to 4% of salary; no vesting period)Primary DutiesDesign, set up, and execute tests that meet military standard requirements under the oversight of project managers and senior engineering.Interface with customers to help develop requirements, report project status, and deliver technical reports.Direct technicians and test team to assist with all aspects of instrumentation configuration and test execution.Create and present high quality technical deliverables with scientific rigor to document testing processes and communicate results effectively to the customer.Assist project managers and other team members with the scheduling and timely execution of projects.Coordinate with cross disciplinary teams within Jaxon to meet project goals.Gain familiarity with relevant military and industry standards applicable.Provide peer review of technical documents throughout the engineering department.Requirements:BS/MS in electrical engineering from an ABET or similarly accredited university.0 to 6 years of related engineering work experience. A MS degree will count towards experience.Laboratory experience with standard instrumentation including oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators. Experience with RF specialty equipment including amplifiers, antennas, filters, and data acquisition systems is beneficial.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Scripting language experience (Python, MATLAB, etc.) is beneficial.Ability to obtain DoD SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance.
