This position is based in the Houston, Texas corporate office and will require international travel to EG during active offshore field completion or well intervention activities. This position is responsible for designing completions, preparing detailed procedures, cost estimates, and other documentation while working with the service providers and offshore field supervisors during the operations execution phase. The successful candidate will be tasked to further the understanding of our current completion philosophy and potential enhanced completion designs for the offshore platform based asset consisting of dry tree- surface wellhead systems, large bore tubulars, high-rate gas production, low bottom hole pressure from a retrograde condensate type reservoir in an offshore field located in 250' water depth with the wells being +/- 13,000' TVD / 15,500' MD maximum, 300deg F BHT and 1,500 psi SITP. The successful candidate is required to have a solid understanding of completion engineering fundamentals and offshore well servicing techniques such as slickline, electric line, coiled tubing/nitrogen. A successful candidate will have to demonstrate a desire to enhance performance, drive innovation and operational efficiencies. As with all members of the EG asset team, the completion engineer is responsible for leading efforts in Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) for all projects supervised. This will consist of meeting with contractors, both on and off-site, considering HES issues during contracting for completion designs, implementation, participating in incident investigations, generating corrective actions, and providing HES operational leadership during active field operations. The candidate must also demonstrate continuous improvement, both operationally and in HES realm, which requires close collaboration with other Houston and EG based Asset Team members, offshore field personnel and in country service providers. A strong emphasis on collaboration, influence and leadership is a requirement of this position. The individual selected will show aptitude for problem solving and have demonstrated creativity and innovation. Develop completion designs and cost estimates, where such estimates and plans are distributed both internally and to partners for business planning. Working with the subsurface, production, drilling team members and vendors to develop completion detailed procedures following regulations and company standards. Work with Offshore Production and Subsurface teams to develop stimulation programs to mitigate scale build up, water blockages and other downhole issues. Supervise operational execution of the programs. Supervise coiled tubing N2 jetting of wells that have liquid loaded. Work with asset team members to identify and mitigate any well production risks associated with downhole scale formation or completion/formation deterioration. Support and provide oversight supervision during the operational execution of completion activities. Work within the Company's Management System confines, utilize and embrace the Management of Change requirements. Perform casing and tubing design, analysis, and integrity models to ensure isolation and integrity during stimulation and during the life cycle of production operations. Identify completion equipment needs, participate in equipment and vendor selection and monitoring of selected vendor performance. Generate well/project specific AFEs and track variances to actual performance. Interface and collaborate regularly with the global supply chain team, drilling/production/reservoir engineers, geoscientists, data scientists and HES personnel. Perform monthly accounting responsibilities such as cost tracking, equipment inventory control, accruals, and variance analysis. Prepare and deliver technical presentations for management reviews, peer reviews, and technical committee meetings. Accept accountability for success and failure; communicate and disseminate details on both to improve overall operational efficiency and HES performance. Provide safety leadership throughout completion operations. Participate in or lead incident investigations, vendor visits, or safety meetings as required. QUALIFICATIONS • Education - Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred, but based on work history an alternative engineering degree is acceptable.• 7-12 years of experience: 7+ years conventional completion engineering / well servicing experience, minimum 3 years with an Operator.
