The Staff Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing technical guidance, problem resolution and design support for operation and maintenance of electrical equipment for the assigned assets. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform the role of Subject Matter Experts (SME) for issues pertaining to electrical matters. Expertise with power system design, power distribution equipment and protective relaying is required. Extensive experience with design and troubleshooting of electric motors and related equipment including motor starters, motor protection relay, and variable frequency drives is required. Experience in electrical modeling program (SKM, ETAP, etc.) for use to conduct power studies, short circuit calculation, coordination studies, arc flash calculation, and troubleshooting is required. Basic understanding of preventative/predictive maintenance concepts and applications as it applies to electrical equipment is required. Well versed in applicable codes, government regulations, standards, pertaining to electrical systems such as NFPA, NEC, and API. The Component Engineer possesses in-depth knowledge of electronic components and failures modes and serves as a bridge between project teams, component manufacturers, and supply chain to ensure a design meets the project design goals, is manufacturable, and is reliable. The Engineering Standards group is the steward for all approved company engineering standards, piping and valve specifications, standard drawings, project go-by packages, engineering procedures and guidelines. The department collaborates with numerous Enterprise technical Subject Matter Experts across a spectrum of disciplines to deliver safe, industry standard, and cost-effective solutions for Enterprise projects. The department also provides company personnel access to a variety of custom developed applications including the Standards Portal Site, the Standards Selection Tool, Valve Specification Database, Piping Specification Database, and Waiver Application. The department performs quality system evaluations of valves, gaskets, flanges, and fittings manufacturers for addition to the Enterprise Approved Manufacturers' List (AML). In addition, the Standards Team can assist project teams and stakeholders regarding standards selection and interpretation of industry codes and standards. The Senior Standards & Specifications Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop and maintain pipe and valve specifications for pipeline, refinery, power plant, and chemical plant construction. Evaluate Standards and Specifications to promote safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that conform to industry standards, good engineering practice, and are consistent with Enterprise Products risk tolerance. Collaborate with experts, departments and resources throughout the company and industry on the evaluation and development of standards and specifications promoting safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions in conformance with industry standards, good engineering practice, and consistent with Enterprise Products risk tolerance. Collaborate with experts, departments, and resources throughout the company and industry to develop high quality standards that consistently reflect Enterprise Products commitment to safety, reliability, and performance. Provide technical support and guidance to Project Managers, project teams, Operations, Maintenance, Field Engineering, and other stakeholders for assistance with standards interpretations, standards selection, correct application of codes, project-specific specifications, standards waivers, and any other questions or support stakeholders need related to Enterprise Products standards. Assist Supply Chain Management with reviews and analyses of manufacturer and supplier quality management systems and manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will meet the following criteria: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science is required; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree is preferred. Understanding of plant piping design, codes, and specifications. A minimum of 5 years of experience in refining, chemical processing, pipeline, or related, industries. Knowledge about valves used in pipeline, processing, chemical, and refinery operations. Familiarity with applicable industry standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISA etc.). Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
