HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified candidates to serve as Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner in the Federal Detention Center (FDC) in Philadelphia, PA!The position is contract (W2), full-time, with long term placement. Schedule is five (5) days per week, normally consisting of a total of forty (40), one-hour (1) sessions per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period.Provide Physician Assistant services which includes, but is not limited to:Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmateTake medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and x-raysMake a diagnosis, provide treatment plans and prescribe medicationsClinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizingAttend to medical emergenciesRecord progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapyEmergency consultation to be performed by the contractor in instances where deemed necessary. Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visitsWork collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plansAssists in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care servicesDiscriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problemsManages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call; which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluationsAdministers and documents medications accurately according to policy/procedure and physician orders.
