The Sr. Director of Finance & Accounting is responsible for all financial matters of LifeWorks and its affiliate organizations. Reports to, and works closely with, the Chief Operating Officer. Develops financial business plans and forecasts. Consults with and reviews the activities of division heads and determines desired objectives. Participates in strategic planning and policy development as a member of the Executive Team. Engages the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors to develop financial policies and plans. Utilizes and advances financial software and technology for increasing department efficiencies and productivity. Finance and Accounting  Directs the preparation of statements and reports on financial affairs for the administrative team, funding sources, Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and general public. Ensures that finance and accounting staff maintain financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and monitors the use of all funds. Oversees cash flow planning and ensures availability of funds as needed. Oversees cash, investment, and asset management. Reviews accounts payable expenditures for compliance with grant requirements and agency policies. Oversees financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships. Ensures that LifeWorks financial systems and controls are adequate to protect the assets and reputation of the agency. Ensures timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for public and private funders. Leads the annual independent audit as well as internal audits by funders; oversees preparation and filing of 990 tax returns for all entities. Ensures legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. Establishes internal control structure to ensure protection of agency assets. QUALIFICATIONS  Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting. or a related field and; 8+ years’ experience managing financial/accounting operations with multiple funding streams, preferably in a non-profit environment; or Equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience. Knowledge/experience with requirements of federal funding and GAAP requirements.
