Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Promote a safe working culture for all employees; work with safety and field personnel to minimize risk and increase safety for employees at all times. Responsible for daily operations including safe production, quality, customer focus and maintaining the integrity of the safety and environmental systems within the Company's ready-mix operations. Supervise and provide managerial oversight to the entire Ready-Mix team/operations. Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company and regional goals. Generate and manage the operating budget for the fiscal year under the direction of the Company President. Provide leadership and direction to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. Build effective teams and develop (direct reports) for future opportunities. Ensure that all teams have the tools and training to operate safely at all times and that all federal, state and local laws concerning safety, environment and other applicable areas are adhered to. Strong understanding of quality control processes and procedures. Provide advice and support to team during the job bidding process. Management of Capital Expenditure Projects for assigned area. Work with the Company President to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies. Provide leadership and direction in sales and marketing efforts resulting in maximum product sales, meeting or exceeding customer expectations, and driving maximum profitability. Lead team in personal performance management, training and development, succession planning and effective recruiting and hiring. Display strong leadership & teamwork skills. Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required. Other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or other related field and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid Driver's License (DL) and satisfactory driving record is required. Ten (10) years in a management role within the construction industry specifically in concrete, aggregates, asphalt, construction and/or equipment. Work Requirements Must be 18 years in age or older. Must pass drug screen and criminal background check. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Maintain professional relationships with customers, managers, field support, office and subcontractors, etc. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
