The Role We have an immediate opportunity for a Vice President Mechanical Engineer for our Restoration & Renewal Practice. We are looking for a candidate with experience in managing and executing mechanical engineering projects involving the evaluation, design, and construction of a broad range of systems, such as, steam generation, chilled water, hydronics, refrigerant and water-based air conditioning, ventilation, air distribution ducting, piping, automated controls, and integration with electrical and fire alarm systems. The candidate should also be well versed in building code analysis and interpretation.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain new and existing client relationships.Develop detailed scope and fee proposals. Come join us!Atlas is hiring a Mechanical Inspector for the New York area.Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:Review construction plans and technical specifications for accuracy and code complianceReview construction plans and technical specifications for proposal/cost preparationMeet with clients to communicate project requirements and coordinate inspection plans.Identify and resolve any discrepancies between inspection findings and approved documentation.Perform on-site examination of projects under construction to ensure conformance with NYC building codes and approved plans, with emphasis on architectural, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, energy code, and related systems.Scrutinize permitted specifications and submittals from contractors.Conduct necessary field evaluations, testing, and sampling.Attend pre-construction conferences, progress meetings, and all mandated inspections including pre-final, and TR close-out.Immediately notify contractors and project team of any noncompliant itemsProvide timely detailed reports on all inspection activities.Maintain thorough records and tracking of inspections.Maintain daily communication with project managers and fellow inspectors.Expertly manage multiple simultaneous projects.Ensure high level of attention to detail in all inspection operations.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical engineering or architecture.Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a special inspector.ICC Certification as Commercial Mechanical Inspector (or ability to obtain one within 6 month).OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certified.Expert knowledge of New York City mechanical, plumbing, and fuel gas codes.Legally authorized to work in the United States.Ability to reliably commute in New York City metro area.Technical Requirements:Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of New York.Compensation:$145,600 - $176,800 yearlyThe expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state's law.
