Title: Research Analyst - ComplianceEmployee Classification: PTPay Grade: PT 07Division: Academic and Student AffairsDepartment: ComplianceCampus Location: Main CampusGeneral SummaryThe Research Analyst will manage workflow for various compliance committees, assist faculty and students with human subjects, animal use, and outside interests submissions, respond to questions about research compliance areas, and maintain compliance training courses and websites.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages intake and workflow and conducts preliminary reviews for consistency, completeness, and compliance with federal and state laws and guidance for all areas of research compliance, including IRB/human subjects protection, IACUC, and Conflict of Interest. Determines the required level of review for IRB submissions and assigns appropriate reviewers.Reviews Exempt human subject research and modifications to existing IRB applications within the framework of federal regulations and institutional policy.Advises the university community about research compliance issues and institutional policies and procedures.Schedules and attends all compliance committee meetings. This includes developing agendas, taking minutes, and drafting letters.Manages research compliance email accounts, responding to questions from faculty, students, and staff. This includes questions about electronic submission systems (Cayuse), the application process, and regulatory requirements. Maintains an online system for compliance training courses. This includes adding individuals to specific courses, ensuring all course content is current and up to date, troubleshooting difficulties with course access, and managing completion records.Assists the Director of Research Compliance with program review and analytics, including data collection, processing, and analysis.Maintains research compliance websites.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree required, with an advanced degree in a research-based discipline preferred.At least one year of experience conducting research is required. Knowledge and practical application of federal research ethics principles and regulatory requirements is required.Previous experience with electronic submission systems and Microsoft Office products is required.Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to work effectively with various constituencies across the university. The ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements to a variety of audiences with a focus on customer service.The ability to manage a number of different projects at once, with the ability to meet deadlines.
