The Technical Designer functions as project leader in directing Technical Design work on a single contract or project. Working from information at the proposal, early contract or final design stages, this individual functions as the interface between various engineering departments and Project Management. This role falls within our Design Engineering organization and requires working closely with engineers, proposal managers, project managers, project engineers, and shop personnel. The scope of work includes boiler and environmental products as well as related auxiliary equipment such as flues and ducts, piping, fans, tanks, steel, etc. This individual may be a in a highly specialized field such as Pressure Vessel Engineering performing ASME code calculations for compliance with ASME boiler codes, boiler drum internals specialist, etc. Utilize the latest 2D and 3D CAD technology (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks and/or E3D) to prepare basic arrangement drawings, 3D models, and assembly/details for basic component parts. As an Advisory Engineer , you will function as a technical research specialist within the BrightLoop team, providing crucial technical input at all levels of the company. Your primary role will be to lead research, development and commercialization efforts aimed at deploying B&W's world-class technologies, primarily BrightLoop, for conversion of fossil and biomass fuels to energy, chemicals and fuels as well other as cutting-edge technologies for environmental emissions controls. The Research engineer will directly engage with B&W's BrightLoop technology portfolio and specialize in the support of projects where BrightLoop is being commercialized at scale. Job Requirements: Lead R&D project technical scope, directing experimental bench, sub-pilot & pilot-scale process evaluations in a safe manner. A Project Engineer is directly responsible for the technical excellence and the technical coordination of assigned projects and indirectly responsible for project profitability, with these responsibilities crossing multiple engineering disciplines.
