This is a challenging and rewarding job that requires sound technical abilities in the primary on-site product line, along with knowledge and abilities in instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems. The Plant Technician must demonstrate initiative in handling issues and be self-motivated. The Plant Technician must be on call and able to respond as needed. On rare occasions overnight travel may be needed for training and other plant support. Various training will be provided in safety and plant operations to ensure maximum effectiveness. Primary Responsibilities: The employee in this role solves field site issues and is responsible for the general maintenance and production at the site. The plant is located on a customer site. Responsible for executing business unit driven equipment improvement and capital projects using practical application of fundamental engineering principles in a cGMP setting associated with sterile injectable products. Responsible for providing key engineering/technical support and project coordination as well as mentoring junior engineers. The Senior Field Engineer position requires little or no direct supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform complex troubleshooting, specialized tests, inspections, and appraisals on electrical apparatus and electrical systems. Test and troubleshoot complex electrical systems, complex UPS/Battery systems and all types of power metering. Lead large projects requiring specialized skills such as UPS acceptance tests, commissioning of larger DC Systems, supervising "turnkey" projects, detailed power survey and other types of electrical consultation. Instrumental in developing tests and inspections in new areas of field services. Troubleshooting capabilities use of AC/DC load-banks and power quality recording instrumentation, all testing/troubleshooting equipment associated with UPS, Charger, and Battery testing.
