Associate - Multifamily Asset Management

Position Summary: The Associate will support Hudson's multifamily team, working closely with Lone Star, by assisting in the asset management, value creation, and overall business plan execution process for multifamily investments owned by various affiliates of Lone Star Funds. He / she will also participate in occasional due diligence, underwriting, and general acquisition activities related to new multifamily investment opportunities.Essential Functions: • Direct responsibility for the management of certain acquired multifamily investments owned by affiliates of Lone Star. • Develop detailed business plans and annual operating budgets for each assigned portfolio / asset. • Implement and effectuate annual business plans through actively overseeing property management, leasing, accounting, legal, appraisal, tax, as well as third-party consultants.• Responsible for the oversight, coordination, and execution of value-add renovations and capital improvements. • Prepare financial analyses (such as cash flow models, valuations, risk return analysis, and hold/sell scenarios) to evaluate property-related investment strategies, as well as additional ad-hoc analysis on portfolio performance and asset management initiatives.• Prepare and present regular asset performance reports to senior management.• Perform regular market visits and property inspections for assigned assets.• Develop and maintain knowledge regarding capital markets activity in various geographic regions targeted by the firm.• Manage and lead asset disposition processes, including broker selection, negotiating purchase and sale contracts with prospective buyers, and closing.• Develop and maintain investment models using Microsoft Excel.• Provide guidance, training, and professional development to junior team members.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Extensive experience and strong passion for working with institutional multifamily investments & capital sources/investors.• Exposure to a wide range of multifamily investment strategies; value-add renovation and asset re-positioning experience strongly preferred.• Proven competence in maximizing asset / portfolio financial performance.• A thorough understanding of real estate investment fundamentals, market trends, corporate finance and value. • Background in leveraged investments & management of investment features outside of property level considerations• Prior acquisitions & underwriting experience is a plus• Excellent financial modeling skills (Microsoft Excel) and highly proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.• A quantitative thinker, able to analyze financial data to generate and validate critical concepts and extract insight and conclusions based on data and market intelligence.• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.• Ability to present ideas persuasively and defend them in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.• Strong experience developing and maintaining relationships. • Effective negotiating skills, with experience negotiating with brokers, property managers, and sellers / buyers in connection with acquisitions / dispositions. • Excellent financial modeling skills (Microsoft Excel) and highly proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage time.• Self-motivated, self-teacher, and quick learner;
