Specific Job Responsibilities:Read part drawings, specifications, and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the parts and materials Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications, etc.) Use automated systems to perform complex testing procedures Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as the number of defective products per day, etc. Complete First Article Inspections as needed Prepare and submit reports to the Supply Quality Manager Perform other related duties as directed to meet the business needs Accept or reject materials or articles; identify and document non-conformance and notify appropriate personnel of potential rejection of items. The sustaining engineer will research, test and validate components, materials and applications while sustaining current product designs. The R&D Engineer I is responsible for the design history files, determining test requirements, V&V testing and/or coordinating V&V testing, and design controls. In addition to implementing moderate design changes that either enhance performance or address quality issues, the sustaining engineer supports/ performs complaint investigations, determines root cause failure modes and provides solutions for these product lines.
