JOB SUMMARY: Provide technical accounting leadership supporting accurate financial reporting in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP) partnering extensively with teams across the Cat Financial organization as well as Cat Inc corporate accounting. Recommends accounting treatment, including the preparation and review of position memos and ensures concurrence, where applicable, from our external auditors. 2. Communicates/reviews assessments of significant accounting matters with senior management and external auditors. 3. Provides guidance on accounting treatment to senior management for significant transactions before they are executed to advise management on the possible accounting implications. 4. Reviews and provides guidance on technical accounting research/documentation completed by others on the team. 5. Monitors new accounting guidance, evaluates the impact, and assists with implementation working with the applicable Cat Financial teams, Cat Inc corporate accounting and our external auditors. 6. Prepares and/or reviews Form 10-Q and Form 10-K disclosures. 7. Maintains and provides updates as needed to existing accounting policies and recommends new policies as needed. 8. Makes recommendations for changes in Cat Financial operational policies and procedures to ensure continued compliance with US GAAP. 9. Provides training on technical accounting topics and accounting policies. 10. Participates in enterprise strategic projects, as needed. 11. The successful candidate will provide civil support and project management for environmental projects including civil design, solid waste permitting, remedial design, construction plan preparation, periodic oversight during construction, and storm water planning. The Senior Civil Engineer will manage and direct others on project assignments.A DAY IN THE LIFEAs a key member of the Engineering team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:Plans multiple projects simultaneously including being the senior technical lead on a project, supervising engineering professionals, staff level engineers, technicians, and CAD professionalsResponsible for estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of firm standardsCoordinates the day to day operations of technical staff assigned to projects by assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts and providing technical guidance.
