Arranges milk prep rooms for ease of product visibility and according to inspection standards (Food Safety & Sanitation, EOC). Rotates fresh milk to freezers to prevent expiration. Monitors prepared milk and discards if expired. Measures/weighs fortification ingredients using a gram scale for powder products and a graduated cylinder, beaker or sterile syringe for liquid products. Utilizes the standard recipe charts for preparation of human milk or uses the recipe provided in the comments section of the order. Utilizes aseptic technique for preparation of all special mixed milk or modulars for human milk. Maintains a strict schedule in order to complete the preparation and distribution of milk. Follows appropriate storage time for opened products, utilizing opened/expiration labels for all opened containers being stored. Performs all delivery of expressed breast milk to patient’s room. Responsible for properly utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintains necessary logbooks for utilization of donor human milk. Assists patients with activities of daily living to include bathing, personal hygiene, nutrition and comfort measures, changing bed linens, and diapers.
