Prepares complete project documentation to include plans, specifications, and engineer estimates, including collecting, assembling, and organizing project data. Works on multiple projects of moderate to large size using time efficiently to stay within budget and timely delivery. Develops proposals, including bid documents, project reports, studies, and other documentation. Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments/projects. Coordinates technical and administrative activities with other internal departments and disciplines participating in the project. Ensures project engineering activities comply with firm and contract requirements and supports overall project schedule, scope, and budget. Interprets contract specifications and resolves conflicts with contractors on such matters as interpretation of specifications, workmanship, quality of materials, and related issues. Prepares monthly project status reports and change orders. Participates in client/contractor meetings and resolves client, engineering, and management project issues. Prepares project scopes, tasks, budgets, and schedules. Lead, teach, coach, and train subordinates in a professional contractual relationship with all parties involved with the project. Actively facilitates and mentors the growth of team members. Review project budget with the Senior Project Manager regularly. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes, zoning codes, and approval processes. Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and build teams effectively. Excellent written and verbalskills. Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious. It is attuned to other areas related to the total project: structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and site requirements. Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with a working knowledge of the current version of AutoCAD. Familiarity with engineering software. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. 10+ years of experience. PE license is preferred. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with clients to understand their unique requirements and objectives for digital print transformation in the corrugated packaging industry.Lead the development and execution of comprehensive project plans tailored to each client's needs, ensuring alignment with BHS' digital solutions and industry best practices.Oversee the implementation of digital technologies and processes, including but not limited to:Package specification: Work with clients to define packaging requirements and specifications, ensuring compatibility with digital printing technologies.ERP/MIS integration: Facilitate seamless integration of digital printing processes with clients' existing ERP/MIS systems for efficient order management.Digital pre-print planning and operations: Manage the setup and optimization of digital pre-print processes, including workflow design and optimization.Corrugator scheduling and planning: Develop scheduling strategies to maximize efficiency and throughput on corrugator equipment, incorporating digital print capabilities.Advanced corrugator cut-to-mark applications: Implement advanced cutting and marking techniques to enhance the quality and precision of printed corrugated packaging.Business development processes: Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for growth and expansion leveraging digital print technologies, driving profitability and market differentiation.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication, managing expectations, and resolving any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.Conduct regular project reviews and performance evaluations to track progress against objectives, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, manufacturing, and technical support, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscape related to digital printing and corrugated packaging, providing insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.Adhere to all relevant quality, safety, and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies at all times.RequirementsExperience in leading operational transformation in a corrugated manufacturing environment. Specific experience with digital pre-print technology and running digital pre-print on a corrugator in batch mode, along with implementation of the necessary planning, scheduling, and execution software to digitize the process is of particular importance.Software and business process architecture experience and knowledge is critical to the success of the ideal candidate. Leading and managing a project between vendor and customer resources, process mapping, gap identification, and process design and project management skills are required.Specific experience with digital pre-print technology including DFE, RIP, print engine, and web-based printing presses is very valuable.
