POSITION SUMMARY Perform complex troubleshooting, specialized tests, inspections, and appraisals on electrical apparatus and electrical systems. Technically support a Region of service engineers. Position may be mentally demanding, requiring a high level of tolerance and concentration on several projects and activities at once. The Senior Field Engineer position requires little or no direct supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform complex troubleshooting, specialized tests, inspections, and appraisals on electrical apparatus and electrical systems. Test and troubleshoot complex electrical systems, complex UPS/Battery systems and all types of power metering. Lead large projects requiring specialized skills such as UPS acceptance tests, commissioning of larger DC Systems, supervising "turnkey" projects, detailed power survey and other types of electrical consultation. Instrumental in developing tests and inspections in new areas of field services. Troubleshooting capabilities use of AC/DC load-banks and power quality recording instrumentation, all testing/troubleshooting equipment associated with UPS, Charger, and Battery testing. Perform installation, start-up services on all UPS and DC/Battery Systems. May perform and/or supervise a full range of complex engineering studies. Write complete, detailed reports promptly at end of project, using a computer, and accurately process job billing. May perform complex analysis and evaluative tasks necessary to complete equipment labeling projects consistent with recognized industry and international standards, local jurisdiction requirements and Company procedures. Perform sales support functions. Maintain strong client relationships. Perform all functions pertaining to a written job proposal to a client, including estimate of man-hours and expenses, and development of scope and pricing. Actively involved client interface and business development activities. Give effective technical presentations and writing publishable articles may be required. Mentor other Field Service Engineer positions. Train and assist other Field Service Engineers in the Region. Requires special skills in most of the following: Power quality surveys - generation and co-generation start-up - ANSI, NEC, NEMA and U.L. specifications (field evaluation); pilot wire and distance relaying - computer power system transient surveys - vector, phasor analogy; UPS systems - drive systems - complex control systems - medium and high voltage substation start-up, vibration analysis. Strong background and experience in all types of switchgear and equipment testing through the 500 kV class. Thorough knowledge of electrical apparatus testing with a strong theoretical understanding of electrical power systems, and good aptitude for problem evaluation. Complete projects consistently on budget. Requires a high degree of communication, supervisory, organizational and management skills. Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with clients, peers and management. Good judgment, dependable, supervises large-scale projects with technical expertise and good business management skills. In the role of Mechanical Designer, we'll count on you to:* Provide building mechanical planning and designs for work in the building/facilities field including substantial muti-phase new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for a variety of real property facilities in a multiple-campus area, including heavy industrial campus, light commercial/community service campus, dormitory campus, warehouse campus, and administrative campus.* Responsible for mechanical document production including Statement of Work, Design Analysis, Drawings, Specifications and cost estimates.* Assist Architects and Engineers with planning, project evaluations and design of building mechanical projects in an industrial/heavy commercial environment.* Assist Project Managers with the following actions:o Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget;o Accomplish coordination/answered comments through other engineering and Air Force functions, including environmental, safety, contracting, and appropriate managers/agencies;o Prepare bid packages, evaluate bids and address contractor questions during bidding process, ando Update NextGen database with programming/design data as required.* Reviews engineering plans and specifications for compliance with federal and state regulations and ensures that design formats comply with applicable guidance.* Furnishes sketches and layouts supplemented by verbal or written information for preparation of drawings.* Prepares modification/alteration design specifications considering existing structures, utilities, facilities, and other considerations of projects that are not readily apparent.* Applies a practical knowledge of engineering methods, techniques, architecture, and historical project data to ensure project requirements are complete.* Supports project managers for development of design details.* Promote sustainable design and development principles (LEED) in professional activities.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineeringat least 2 years doing MEP design on commercial buildingsDoD design experience

BGIS is currently seeking a Commissioning Agent to join the team as a member, Remote, US. We are looking for individuals to commission mission critical center equipment systems, such as power generation and distribution systems, uninterruptible power supplies, static transfer switches, PDU's, BAS & BMS systems and HVAC equipment. The candidate must have a working knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical systems or equivalent industry experience with proven customer service skills. Experience associated with industrial level generators, Uninterruptable Power Supplies, HVAC and Power conditioning equipment is a benefit. The candidate should be technically competent on test equipment such as: AC/DC amp probe, digital voltmeter, phase rotation meters, battery conductance tester, battery load tester and micro-ohm meter. This position will require a minimum of 75% travel. The position will require national and/or international travel. Position is performed remotely; however, may require travel/driving to client locations for training, meetings and other in-person events. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform design reviews of systems. Develop, oversee and write startup and commissioning policies and procedures. QA/QC of the equipment installation. Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans. Execute tests for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical systems and to ensure testing is performed in conformance with standards and procedures. Assist in training of plant operations and maintenance personnel. Act as liaison with vendors and subcontractors regarding problem resolution and perform testing as required. Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports. Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members. Work with others to manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule. *Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES 7 years of industry experience in either electrical power distribution or mechanical systems or both. AA degree, military training or equivalent work experience. Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems. Be organized; possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with MS word and excel is a must. Must have the ability to work in a high stress environment, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others. Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards. Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Must have or be able to obtain a passport Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Commissioning Engineer. Five (5) years of experience in the commissioning field including performance contracting requirements. Must be proficient in BCA, PECI and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures. Hospital, biotech, data center, and energy analysis experience is preferred. Ability and willingness to travel, 75% of the time.
