Job Summary Vertiv is hiring an Associate Controls Engineer in Minneapolis, MN to direct, design, develop, test and resolve issues with control systems and components for HVAC equipment operation. Discipline focuses on HVAC equipment operation utilizing Direct Digital Control (DDC) Systems and tools provided by the chosen DDC hardware and software supplier. The engineer will be proficient in HVAC equipment operation, control system principles, implementation, operational programming, HMI programming, Building Management System (BMS) integration including ancillary input and output devices. The engineer is responsible for seeing a control system project/order through the design, release to production, manufacturing, testing and field support cycles. Create documentation for production including: Controller IO lists, sensor and other device details/defaults Create operational code, HMI code, BMS interface code and test solutions. Create final documentation for equipment O&M including: SOO, HMI Guide, BMS integration details and device O&M documents. POSITION SUMMARY Assist sales representatives by providing technical support to help sell company Thermal products. Serve as a conduit between the field and the other applicable internal departments. POSITION SUMMARY The Application Engineer, HVAC Controls provides pre-sales technical expertise to the sales team and customers during the sales process focused around chilled water systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in Chilled Water Systems and Operation, Control Theory, Advanced HVAC Controls and BMS or BAS protocols. The Application Engineer provides technical input into bid proposals, projects and technical documents within the sales process and identifies additional sales opportunities with existing customers. Vertiv is hiring a Product Quality Engineer in Westerville, OH to drive product field quality improvements. Provide direction and support for implementation and continued use of tools and methods utilized in the improvement of system reliability. Lead implementation and apply advanced quality processes, methods and tools for all new product development programs. Develop and report critical product metrics for warranty and reliability tracking and projections. Effectively work across all product development areas in the company to drive and sustain a strong quality culture across the overall organization. Lead, coordinate and support multiple quality improvement projects across various departmental areas, driving short term and long term, sustainable corrective actions to address product and process issues. RESPONSIBILITIES Determine the data driven top customer field issues list, verify an owner is assigned and status is reported weekly. Lead cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions through problem solving process. Evaluate completed corrective actions and ensure effectiveness of actions. Recommend appropriate remedial activities. Visit customers to proactively see installations and document improvement needs. The Design Engineer provides detailed instructions and guidance to the Vertiv Installation team by way of new and/or marked up drawings, including but not limited to all site plan drawings (i.e., Cabling, Floor, Cable Rack, Lighting, Grounding, etc.), Equipment Wiring List and Block Schematics, Front Equipment drawings and a detailed Installation Procedure (Specification). The Design Engineer's role also includes the provision of a detailed Bill of Material (BOM) reflecting all necessary installation material required to install new equipment completely and accurately, as required by the customer's Engineering and Installation standards. Site surveys and customer visits may be required to gather information for the Scope of Work (SOW) to be performed. Perform computational fluid dynamic analysis on solution to ensure fluid flow and heat extraction meet customer specifications. The Design Engineer will be required to provide technical support services and guidance to the Vertiv Installation team and the customer, while maintaining the highest level of quality and professionalism. Solution-based thinking that will incorporate mechanical, electrical, structural, and other engineering competencies to an end-customer deployment. A working knowledge of IT and Telecom industry end-applications to successfully deploy the support infrastructure required. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
