Maintains accurate files of all programs and set-up information, as supplied by Designers and ME’s correcting and updating any changes in parts, fixtures and/or methods that may be necessary.Monitors machine set-ups to keep the set-ups as uniform as possible between similar parts and at the same time minimize any loss of efficiency.Prepare programs for use on both primary and secondary machines, eliminating serious bottlenecks in the production areas to maintain maximum machine efficiency.Support the manufacturing effort by providing necessary assistance including time estimates of new methods, assisting operators and supervisors as needed and advising proper tool selection.Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES• Knowledge of advanced machine shop practices, processes, and mechanics.• Knowledge of the operations of metal working machines, including the understanding of set-ups and tool life. • Ability to read and interpret component blueprints and drawings.• Skilled in mathematics. Position Description: The CNC Programmer will create and verify complete CNC programs for a variety of machines ranging from 3-5 axis vertical and horizontal mills to multi-axis turning centers using Siemens NX. This would include modeling of tooling and creation of tool worksheets as well as building and running a verification environment in VeriCut. Responsibilities: Troubleshooting program-specific issues Must be able to work independently as this is a remote position Program utilizing the Manufacturing Engineer’s processes, turning over a completed      program and tool list through VeriCut verification. Applies knowledge of materials to create the operations needed to make machined products to meet part prints. Determines reference points and direction of machine cutting paths Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvatures and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part Prepares geometric layout on graph paper or using computer-assisted drafting software to show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths, using drafting instruments or computer Writes instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine Writes program of machine instructions to regulate movement of machine along cutting path.
