RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist in Saint Louis, MO.Responsibilities: Payroll Tax Specialist will collect, compile and process bi-weekly payroll data using UHX software for multiple sites located in various states for over 1,100 employees Calculate and post payroll deductions, garnishments, tax levies, etc. Ensures compliance with all applicable tax regulations at a federal, state, and local level Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages Works within Oracle to ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual state and federal payroll reports are properly prepared and payments are made accurately and timely Prepare monthly and annual workers' compensation reports for insurance company premiums and annual audit As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you will prepare various payroll related files for submission to Vanguard relating to the 401k plan Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information Maintain confidentiality of personal/protected employee information Primary contact for the HR staff regarding all payroll related activities Assists Controller and Accounting Manager with audits Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and must be able to handle difficult people at all levels inside and outside of the company Complete year-end payroll activities including balancing and distribution of annual reports and W2'sREQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent; Some college level Accounting courses preferred 2-3 years of payroll tax experience at a minimum Experience with multiple FEIN's, Multiple States, and Multiple localities Knowledge of state reciprocity, W2's, and withholding taxes Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy Proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously Ability to prioritize workload to meet processing deadlines Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Thorough understanding of employee tax and garnishment administration Knowledge of applicable State and Federal payroll Tax Laws Above average technical capacity (Microsoft Office) The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
