Beacon Hill Financial is looking for a contract to hire payroll specialist for our cleint located in Downtown St. Louis. This role is a hybrid position. If interested in hearing more about this role, or other payroll positions Beacon Hill is recruiting for, please apply.Position Description: The Payroll Specialist, under the guidance of the Payroll Manager, is responsible for the administration of the day-to-day payroll operations and accuracy of the payroll system that delivers payroll on a bi-weekly basis. The Payroll Specialist will act as backup resource to other Payroll Specialists and perform related duties as required.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Consolidate timesheet information to ensure accuracy, including the review of pay codes, hours, and time away from work.Process and commit bi-weekly payroll to meet required deadlines.Set up and process garnishments, tax levies, support orders and wage assignments as appropriate.Understand Ceridian WFM system and Workday as a Processor Performs a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activitiesProvide support for ongoing payroll operational activitiesAnswer routine payroll and payroll tax related questions from team members and groupsAssist and prepare ad hoc requests Conduct research, and compile information for reports Regularly review current processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvements to SOP or systems to enhance performance and create efficiencies.Participate in efficiently carrying out the functions of the existing payroll processes while assisting with developing and testing new payroll processes and procedures when system and business requirements changeParticipate in various payroll audits as required by internal and external audit teamsResearch compliance issues, IRS laws and states laws, to provide recommendations for improved compliance on internal payroll and payroll tax processesParticipate in payroll projects, meetings, and opportunities as assignedJob Specifications:Experience with high volume, multi-state payroll environmentKnowledge of payroll related taxes and respective taxing agenciesRequired Education and Experience:Associate degree in a related field preferredThree (3) plus years of payroll experienceBasic knowledge of FLSA, Federal and State withholding requirementsKnowledge of payroll related taxes and the taxing agencies Beacon Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace. Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel tools, including Excel macros, to perform technical analyses of potential investments within the broader landscape.3. Evaluate investment opportunities using due diligence processes to assess economic value and forecast future performance performing product analysis and roadmap using tools such as PowerBI.4. Analyze market potential for innovative technologies and develop comprehensive financial and valuation models using Excel and PowerPoint.5. Assist portfolio companies in formulating strategies for successful product launches, scaling initiatives, and identification of operational efficiencies using business and financial analysis tools including Firstbase, Carta, Kmong and Mailchimp,12. Conduct analysis of startup capital needs, advising founders and the board on financial burdens utilizing legacy ERP/CRM applications such as DealCloud and identifying viable funding opportunities.13. Monitor market and economic developments across diverse industries, providing detailed reports assessing the financial and capital impacts of investments for the organization by collecting data from various sources and analyzing market data from software including Bloomberg, PowerBI.May Telecommute.Will travel approximately 10% of the time within the United States to engage with partners, further enhancing professional relationships and expanding networks.The position requires one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related.
