DescriptionBackground Information:Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Systems Engineer to be based in our San Diego office. Overview:The Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing IDT's MBSE-based automated test and analysis capabilityfortactical systems and subsystems supporting DOD platforms and communication systems such as CANES, ADNS, TTNT, CEC, Link-16, Aegis, SSDS, CCS, MQ-25, and P-8 Poseidon.Prior experience with MBSE methodologies, development & test processes of complex systems and embedded software is beneficial.All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance.Responsibilities Include: Execute software life-cycle processes including requirements analysis, architecture definition, software design, code and test for the development of automated system testing capabilityBuild and assess systems engineering and architecture models using MBSE methodologiesConduct MBSE-based reviews and technical assessments that inform key technical decisions (Internal and External Customer Sets)Create and maintain SysML artifacts to model system structure and behaviorSupport requirements, interface, and architecture change management processes in a SysML modelInterface with customers for technical and programmatic itemsSupport business capture and proposal development opportunitiesMinimum Required Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering or related fields Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, or MathRequired skills: Ability to lead elicitation, decomposition, and allocation of customer requirements into solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints Ability to work closely with Lead Developers, Program Managers, Chief Engineers to document, manage and communicate systems and software requirements Experience with DOD or complex commercial software product development Experience with the development of processes and tools used to support analysis and test of product functionality and performance during development Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering/Mode Based Software Development using SysML or UML Experience using Systems Modeling Tools like Rhapsody and MagicDraw/Cameo Understanding of requirements management processes related to SysML approaches and artifacts Experience with DoD communications systems Preferred skills: Experience creating Plugins using a Modeling Tool's API (Rhapsody/MagicDraw/Cameo) Experience with DOORS or other requirements management tools System integration and test experience for complex software applications including experience with software testing tools (commercial or bespoke applications) Experience in Navy testing programs, practices, and assetsCompetencies: Attention to detail Desire to develop talent and to lead a team of junior engineers Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts Independently contribute to a tight knit team Solid analytical skills Pay Range*:$85,500 - $139,650 or $102,600 - $179,550*Pursuant to California Senate Bill 1162, IDT is required to disclose the "pay scale" or "pay range" associated with a job posting.
