Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop/flicker and pulling tension calculations. Prioritize work and manage engineering tasks for multiple projects under budget and time constraints. Understand municipality requirements to submit for permits. Coordinate with utility Planners and Applicant Design Checkers as needed. Coordinate with clients for sequence of events throughout the life of the project. Coordinate with traffic control for major road work.Qualifications Associate degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology from an accredited college or university required. Management may consider other education and work experience to be acceptable for appointment to this position. 5+ years of underground distribution engineering. Working knowledge of utility design/engineering, construction and project management processes and requirements. Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and landscape plans. Demonstrated ability and/or experience with GIS systems and CADD systems. Ability to handle contacts with clients and other agencies in connection with project design responsibilities. Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform to job responsibilities. Problem solving skills, mathematical and writing skills. Microsoft suite (word, excel, outlook, etc.) fluent. 2+ years of utility distribution design experience with California utilities or a consulting engineering firm with demonstrated project capability preferred. Knowledge of CPUC utility rules preferred.
