The goal of the summer is to equip participants with the skills necessary to make a healthy transition from middle school to high school. JOB DESCRIPTION Humanities Teacher (Grades 5-8) Start Date: September 1, 2024 5 Days / Week Salary: 61,897 K-110,641 K The Bank Street School for Children is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and team-oriented Humanities teacher. Humanities covers Language Arts (reading, literature and writing) and Social Studies. Homeroom Advisory covers social emotional support, executive function support, and close collaboration with a homeroom co-advisor. The ideal candidate will be excited about working with middle school students in a progressive school that values social justice and equity. This role is a union position (Bank Street works with the Professional Employees Union, or "PEF") and the official hours of work are 8 AM - 4 PM Monday through Friday, except for Wednesday, which is 8 AM - 5 PM, with an extended day for faculty meetings after school.
