The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at the Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking applicants for a lecturer position in Japanese. Applicants must have MA or Ph.D. in Japanese or a related field, and at least two years of successful college-level Japanese language teaching experience.The professional duties include, but are not limited to, instruction of Japanese at all levels through communicative-based methods, creating teaching materials, assisting with events related to Japanese language and culture, and attending curricular and department related meetings.A successful applicant is skilled in conducting classroom communicative activities in Japanese, in which students are rigorously engaged in speaking. The Department houses a Modern Language Technology Center where faculty and students actively integrate technology in language teaching and learning.The College of Liberal Arts is one of nine colleges within Rochester Institute of Technology. The College has over 150 faculty in 13 departments in the arts, humanities and social sciences. The College currently offers fourteen undergraduate degree programs and five Master degrees, serving over 800 students.
