The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive experience and possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and clients we serve.PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, site design and land surveying techniques.Technical expertise and leadership in the project definition and planning phases.Project management responsibilities including:- Preparing scopes of work and estimates for engineering and survey projects.- Developing project quality control and quality assurance processes.- Planning, scheduling and coordinating technical aspects of projects.- Performing professional review of project deliverables.- Having excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders.- Engaging regularly with clients to discuss current projects, evaluate performance and identify other client project needs.Perform analysis for complex boundary surveys and prepare associated plats and boundary descriptions.Perform advanced calculations involving field survey data.Prepare surveyor's reports, legal descriptions, closure calculations and other documentation as required.Use Civil 3D to design and produce drawings.Maintain a strong working knowledge of the client's standards.Able to adapt to quickly to changing priorities and conditions.PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Effective leader and communicator with team and clients.Excellent cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team and in training, coordinating and leading others in accomplishing work activities.Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D required; Bentley OpenRoads Designer preferred.Working knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS and robotic total stations.Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment and innovative ideas.Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.Some regional travel possible.PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required10+ years of experiencePE and PS requiredExperience with ODOT survey and right-of-way standards preferredPROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR KEY COMPETENCIES:Analytical problem solvingContinuous learningInterpersonal communicationProfessional attitudeCollaborationLJB offers competitive compensation packages, which includes paid time off, a 401(k)/profit sharing plan, tuition reimbursement, flexibility, and mobility.
