The Division has a strong record of research leadership and mentoring. Clinical opportunities include Diabetes, Obesity and Transgender Care. Opportunities exist for collaboration with pediatric division at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in clinical care of transition patients and research projects. Essential FunctionsPerform clinical and some research tasks, (including obtaining consent from patients in a HIPAA compliant environment), learning Epic data entry, clinic operations, research techniques both on our campus and off-campus with our collaborators/colleagues, data compilation and IRB document preparation for Endocrinology patients within a complex academic medical center. * See patients in the outpatient clinics, fellows' clinics and inpatient setting, at least 50% Diabetes focus required,* Perform exams, write H & Ps, submit level of Evaluation & Management coding, perform procedures at various UC Health or UCH-contracted facilities,* Interact with peers, residents and fellows as needed,* Be responsible for personal and general health and safety laboratory issues,* Participate in Medical Grand Rounds, seminars, and conferences at both UCMC and CCHMC locations.* Assist with examination and care of clinical trial patients. This position will engage in outcomes research of health care practices to help design, implement, and evaluate care systems that will improve patient outcomes and reduce costs across the healthcare system. This leader will integrate outcomes research across multiple disciplines, building a team to focus on improving the quality and safety of healthcare, patient outcomes, and cost-efficiency. Essential FunctionsOverseeing the clinical outcomes research strategy across the divisions of General Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, and Endocrinology.Identifying gaps in scientific programs and research methodology to enhance the development of projects and improve clinical outcomes and quality of care.Providing strategic scientific and clinical guidance to develop action plans that advance scientific goals.Processing and analyzing results and data to provide scientific evidence for clinical decision making and health care. Remaining up to date on new trends, developments, and innovations in clinical outcomes research and related areas of clinical science. Maintaining a strong publication record pertaining to outcomes with faculty, non-physician providers, trainees, etc. is anticipated and expected.Maintaining own funded research program and providing ongoing mentorship of students, residents, and fellows interested in outcomes research.Identifying new outcome research funding opportunities. Acting as a liaison with other relevant divisions and departments, including UC Foundation and Marketing to identify philanthropic opportunities and research programs that should be highlighted for publications or events.Assist the division directors in maintaining and reporting metrics, improving workflows, and submitting reports to departments, funders, and other sources. Option to provide inpatient, adult care at West Chester Hospital Additional clinical experiences with fellowship faculty will occur (Equitas Health, UC Health Hartwell, UC Health specialty clinics (eg: infectious disease, plastic surgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, gender spectrum voice, etc.) .Participate in advocacy opportunities aligned with interest.Engage in community-based participatory research on LGBTQ+ health outcomes.
