This role will oversee 1 direct reports and support the globalization of business through leading and coordinating the standardization of systems, procedures and policies across all of Jabil design centers. Provides support for all design activities by participation in initial concept design, development, and implementation phases. This includes design support with processes such as DFMEA, DfX, Design Reviews, project management, control plans. Ensure that current and future quality and manufacturing systems meet and/or exceed customer and regulatory requirements. Review and promote improvement in customer metrics to ensure customer satisfaction. Act as a liaison between Jabil sites for program transfers including providing input into transfer plans and timelines, supporting data and knowledge transfer activities, and participating in launch activities as needed. Provide support and technical assistance to new facility and/or workcell startups as it relates to Jabil Design projects. Provide mentoring and technical assistance to direct reports and Jabil Quality Managers and staff. identify key factors that can be improved; make improvements.Employee and Team Development:Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.Create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.Coach and mentor Quality staff to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.Create and manage succession plans for Quality function.Performance Management:Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).Solicit ongoing feedback from Business Unit, peers and team member on team member’s contribution to the team.Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team member based on feedback.Express pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time.Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in area of responsibility.Communication:Provide weekly communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the department.Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.Ask questions; encourage input from staff.Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIESBusiness Strategy and Direction:Know and understand the campus strategic directions.Define, develop and implement a Quality strategy which contributes to the campus strategic directions.Develop an understanding of the workcell business strategy as it pertains to Quality.Provide regular updates to Business Unit on the execution of the strategy.Forecast Development and Accuracy:Prepare timely forecasts for the department.Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.JOB QUALIFICATIONSKNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTSAdvanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages in an integrated system such as SAP.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.Strong and convincing communication skills.Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.Fluency in English;
