TITLE: Philanthropy Manager Reports To: Chief Philanthropy OfficerFLSA Status: Exempt, SalariedCompensation: $65,000 to $80,000 annuallyBenefits package: described belowPRIMARY FUNCTION:The Philanthropy Officer will assist the Chief Philanthropy Officer with administration of BGCP's fundraising program and execution of its tactical fundraising plan. They will work closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, CEO and Board to advance BGCP's mission by providing fundraising and support for the following initiatives: annual giving, special events, stewardship, donor communications, gift processing and acknowledgement. Duties and Responsibilities:Annual Giving and Alumni Relations (35%):Become an active annual giving fundraiser by acquiring new donors, encouraging renewals, upgrading, and stewarding individual donors. Cultivates, solicits, and deepens relationships with current donors and alumni of BGCP.Assists with direct mail and e-news campaigns. Coordinates communication and solicitation strategies that include but are not limited to email, direct mail, mail, phone, and personal visitation.Generate and post social media content as part of the integrated donor communications plan (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)Special Events (25%):Assists with BGCP's events, primarily the annual golf tournament, by preparing event budgets, coordinating logistics, obtaining sponsorships, and soliciting gifts; prepares printed materials and publications.Works with corporate community partners on BGCP related projects.Events consist of annual fundraising golf tournament and smaller 3 to 5 community events per year.Staff Volunteer Committees (5%):Assists in organizing, managing, and supporting volunteer committees comprised of community members, alumni, and donors for fundraising efforts.Data Management (20%):Helps to identify potential prospects; maintains prospect lists and tracking charts; maintains list of donors, gift designations, receipts of gifts and pledge payments; retains records necessary for finance and audit purposes.Administrative Support (15%):Provides administrative support for all fundraising including the development of collateral materials for meetings, donor cultivation and solicitation, and special events; coordinates timely production of materials, gift recording, produces acknowledgment letters, and donor stewardship reports; assists in the development of timely fundraising progress reports. Supports the Chief Philanthropy Officer by performing routine office functions such as answering and routing calls, editing, and proofing correspondence, processing incoming mail, developing agendas, materials, and post meeting notes.Requirements and Personal Capabilities:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.A minimum of three years fundraising experience with a not-for-profit agency, educational institution, or association. Youth development service experience preferred. Knowledge and experience with fund-raising techniques and best practices, marketing, and communications.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media marketing.Knowledge of accessing and managing Raisers Edge Donor Database or similar.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Knowledge of accounting procedures related to fundraising.Ability to establish and maintain strong, positive, and effective working relationships with the Club staff, Board, volunteers, donors, community groups and others.Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.Passion for the mission, the Clubs' programs and the child and youth population served.Entrepreneurial by nature, enjoys meeting new individuals and corporate leaders, self-starter who enjoys establishing new relationships on behalf of the organization.Resilient, creative, positive, respects others, and of the highest professional integrity.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:To perform this job successfully an individual must meet the physical requirements necessary to complete the essential job duties.
