LHH is working with a real estate organization in the Dallas area that is adding a new Senior Accountant to their team.Job Responsibilities:Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and segregation of duties. Oversee general ledger accounting and reporting processes. Analyze, review, and prepare financial statements. Execute month-end close procedures, including reviewing the general ledger, conducting budget variance analysis, reconciling balance sheets and bank statements, preparing journal entries/accruals, and coordinating owners' reporting. Provide supporting documentation for annual tax return preparation and audits. Authorize property deposit journal entries. Compile monthly construction draw requests, review job cost ledgers and reconciliations, and liaise with construction management on budget and vendor payments. Manage cash flow, coordinating amounts for debt service, operating expenses, and capital items. Prepare owner distribution or capital call calculations, analyze real estate tax invoices, and submit appeal documentation to the Property Tax Consultant. Coordinate annual payment processes. Conduct annual operating budget reviews. Review monthly tenant billing submitted by the SPM. Perform high-level review of annual NNN billings to tenants. Verify lease abstracts for completeness and accuracy. Review and post property accounts payable batches. Prepare quarterly cash flow projections. Compile fixed asset roll forwards, accrued liabilities, debt, and other asset reports. Maintain the fixed asset system, including additions and disposals, and upkeep asset and depreciation reports.Job Requirements:Hold a BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent professional experience. Require prior commercial real estate accounting experience.Possess knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and accrual-basis accounting methodology. Preferred proficiency in Yardi, Kardin, and Excel.
