Staff Nurse, Interventional PulmonaryThe Mass General Interventional Pulmonology Program manages patients with complex respiratory problems, including lung cancer and pleural disease, using techniques that are less invasive than traditional surgical methods. These techniques often reduce the recovery time, complication rate and discomfort associated with more invasive procedures.The PSPU Staff Nurse is a registered nurse who is responsible for assuring competent, compassionate nursing care for specific patients and families. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, pre-procedural assessment, administration of moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring during diagnostic and interventional procedures, and post-procedural recovery and teaching. The staff nurse serves as a resource to support staff. The staff nurse is responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of a designated group of patients. The Director will be responsible to plan, evaluate and shepherd the delivery of patient care in a collaborative multidisciplinary teaching model. Necessary skills needed for this position, including acute patient care, professional practice, quality outcomes, staff engagement, patient satisfaction and fiscal management. In collaboration with the Associate Chief Nurse, the Nursing Director plans, organizes, implements and oversees clinical and program development in the assigned area(s) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Brigham & Women's Faulkner Hospital as well as the regulatory requirements of the JCAHO and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. The Addiction Recovery Program (ARP) services adults seeking voluntary detoxification admission for alcohol and opiate misuse.
