GENERAL SUMMARYThe Office-based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) Registered Nurse is a position with the Massachusetts General Hospital Program for Substance Use and Addiction Services (PSAS), hospital-wide program to improve access to evidence-based substance use disorder (SUD) care. This position will provide care in two settings 1) 28 hours/week in the Internal Medicine Associates, providing SUD care integrated not a primary care setting and 2) 12 hours/week providing SUD specialty care in the co-located Bridge & HOPE Clinics. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assuring competent, compassionate, individualized, nursing care for patients with SUD. This role collaborates all members of the care team to ensure that patient care is coordinated, comprehensive, and that care transitions are seamless. The Ketamine Clinic is expanding to a newly renovated space with access to 40+ treatment hours per week to help support the ongoing and increasing demand for both esketamine and IV ketamine treatment. Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM), the registered nurse will provide direct clinical care with a primary focus on outpatient esketamine nasal spray and infusion. This role requires a licensed registered nurse with infusion experience. The registered nurse will collaborate with the attending psychiatrist, anesthesiologist, and medical assistants to achieve optimal patient outcomes, and will work closely with non-professional administrative support staff to ensure smooth clinical operations.The principal responsibility of the infusion nurse is to provide direct patient care with a high level of respect and sensitivity to a highly specialized patient population. The MGH Ketamine Clinic treats patients who suffer from treatment-resistant depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and suicidal ideation.
