Supervise the Assessment Specialists that work primarily in the Pre-Clerkship years. Providing guidance and mentorship as they manage the building and administration of written exams and assignments. Assist faculty with the design, development, and modification of assessment, assignments, and assessment rubrics to ensure accurate information is used to assign grades. Supports the design and development of assessment instruments to ensure alignment between the curriculum delivered and assessment for and of learning. Support course teams in the implementation of CQI efforts based on course and teacher evaluations. Provide guidance to faculty in assessment methods most appropriate for the learning objectives being taught/competency being measured. Ensure a course schedule that maximizes opportunities for formative assessment and low stakes summative assessment to ensure frequent feedback to students. Manage the course and individual student dashboards alongside the Years 1 and 2 data analyst. Management to include consultation with faculty, design, analysis based on feedback, distribution and training as well as continued consultation and further updates. Serve as point of contact for student queries in Years 1/2, MEDSCHLR and LMH courses regarding assessments, assignments, their progress in the course, as well as information and technical assistance regarding the program. Develop and execute training for faculty regarding the assessment frameworks. Collaborate with the Curriculum Specialists in the Office of Curriculum to ensure alignment between instructional curriculum and assessment, and the management of outcomes for all courses. Develop materials and training sessions to support the work of the Clinical Competence Panels in Years 1 and 2. Protect student private information and serve as a role model for assuring student confidentiality. Participate in all efforts to support the College's mission to continuously improve the MD Program via guidance to faculty and other stakeholders.25% Student Performance Analysis and Intervention Identify and develop interventions for students who are off track with progress. Develop interventions via consultation with Course Director, relevant faculty members and/or the Associate Dean. Support the development and execution of personalized remediation plans for students. Prepare documentation, analyze performance and provide feedback related to student progress in all MEDSCHLR, 1st and 2nd year courses to students and faculty as applicable. Track professionalism concerns that arise for students and communicate patterns identified to appropriate Assessment and Student Affairs personnel.10% Assessment Administration and Records Retention Analyze students' learning experience and outcome results and report out to all stakeholders on the achievement of these learning experiences and outcomes. Ensure the validity of all assessment instruments used by coordinating the assessment approach. Facilitate the management of educational records to support the requirements of Student Promotions, Evaluation and Awards Committee (SPEAC) work. Support the Faculty Senate approval process for courses developed; ensure relevant stakeholders are apprised of the process status. Monitor the Years 1 and 2 grading committee's decisions around student grades, ensuring compliance with WSU and LCME accreditation requirements and standards for ongoing feedback to students. Maintain records and inventory of assessment information and grades, and compose written communications on behalf of the Course Directors and the Assessment Office.10% Compliance and Quality Assurance Collaborate with Clinical Education Directors and Associate Deans for Clinical Education to provide support related to the quality assurance of the course and assessment methods. Track, evaluate, and report back to faculty and course teams on course outcomes. Conduct all responsibilities within established protocols per FERPA. Promptly report any concerns to appropriate parties. Evaluate concerns, identify solutions, propose and implement recommendations. Develop, maintain, and enhance reports required to the AAMC, College, University, and other stakeholders. Oversee assessment program compliance which is managed by the Assessment Specialist. Maintain electronic files and records in compliance with university record retention policies and procedures.10% Supervision Provide leadership and management of personnel, ensure compliance with existing University procedures and State law, which includes evaluating staff performance, work allocation, training, corrective and/or disciplinary action, and problem resolution.
