Step into Your New Role We are looking for a Designer to join our team with flexibility on location to include Concord (CA), Chico (CA), Atlanta (GA), Phoenix (AZ) or Denver (CO). The Designer will prepare drawings and exhibits for design, permitting, land acquisition, operation, maintenance, and construction of natural gas distribution systems. Some typical project types are long transmission pipeline installations, retrofitting existing pipelines, transmission station design and installing or upgrading system controls, valves, and fittings. Drawing components include wiring diagrams, instrumentation, controls, electrical, grounding, foundations, component assemblies, welded assemblies, 3D facility models, and geo-referenced aerial imagery. The Designer may be responsible to review as-built documentation for accuracy, report findings and incorporate red line as-built information into existing drawings in various formats. Interfacing with other gas organizations to facilitate drafting of designs as necessary. **Key Accountabilities** Interpretation and drafting of historical file updates and “as built” for new and existing system modifications. Detailed mechanical design to define mechanical requirements for new and upgrades to various gas facilities through the development of physical piping and conduit drawings, P&IDs, RTU cabinets, PLC wiring, regulator tubing, and flow diagrams for gas projects. Preparation of drawings for field mounted and panel mounted instruments and controls, such as pressure and temperature transmitters, control valves, actuators, controllers, I/Ps, data recorders, gas analyzers, and flow meters. Develop instrumentation installation and wiring drawings applying appropriate instrumentation details for mechanical cabinets, telemetry cabinets, and tubing. Knowledge and ability to draft Civil Site Plan, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic and other civil details as necessary. Apply recommended practices, industry codes, standards, and regulations as required toward work assignments. Ensure that electrical designs comply with industry codes and standards. Provide support during construction and start-up of projects and assistance to operating departments and engineers as required.
