JOB SUMMARY Supports business objectives through the implementation of the overhead line’s maintenance and replacement programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  Provides technical support to employees and contractors in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of transmission line system components. Overall review, coordination, and tracking of the transmission line maintenance program for the ITCT, METC, and ITCGP footprints, for both capital and O&M line maintenance work. Prepares estimates, and coordinates material requisitions, specifications, and drawings for internally designed projects. Implements maintenance projects by reviewing designs submitted by the design group and working with field employees/contractors to ensure successful completion of the project.  May review and approve designs created by other Engineers. Collaborates with other engineers and departments which may include consulting, managing projects, organizing resources or maintenance work.  Participates in Line Design Standards activities and may support the Line Design Standards Committee. Recommends, develops and maintains programs and data systems associated with transmission line maintenance. Generates internal and external reports on various facets of transmission system. Reviews and provides feedback on third party requests that can affect or change transmission line assets. Reviews and verifies third party costs for shared maintenance costs of the transmission line maintenance program.  Attends meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skills. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education. Minimum Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in related area for an Intermediate Engineer level. Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in related area for Senior Engineer level Possess sound analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the Company. Ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision, in a team environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizes various power system analysis tools to study expected transmission system performance with emphasis on steady-state thermal and voltage analysis.  Performs and reviews steady-state thermal/voltage analyses for new load interconnection requests. Develops, tests and proposes new system capital expansion projects to mitigate potential system performance concerns or planning criteria violations. Coordinates closely with cross-departmental teams to develop project scopes. Supports RTO and RRO data submittals, regulatory filings, NERC compliance activities and development of contracts. Provides technical support to groups internal and external to the company.  Supports development of models to facilitate system studies. Leads development of internal and external analysis and documentation of various facets of the transmission system. Supports Department functions by monitoring and proposing enhancements to Planning processes to support Department objectives and deliverables. Knowledge of electric utility system operations, planning, protection, design, construction and/or maintenance functions preferred.
