JOB SUMMARY Supports the implementation and on-going coordination of ITC’s framework for compliance with the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) and the Regional Entity (RE) Reliability Standards for ITC Holdings.  Assists in the administration of programs and processes to ensure regulatory compliance with applicable Reliability Standards and functions.  Assists in the administration of programs and processes to assure regulatory compliance with applicable Reliability Standards and functions as a team member for internal and external audit preparation.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  Administers documentation for Reliability Standards compliance, reviews and archives compliance and internal controls documentation. Review IT, Engineering, Operations, and Security compliance related documentation necessary to ensure NERC compliance and facilitate continuing process and performance improvement. Functions as a team member for pre-audit activities, including conducting internal pre-audit and controls reviews with various stakeholders responsible for specific standard compliance. Maintains documentation necessary to meet audit requirements as set forth by NERC and REs; ensures that such documentation is able to demonstrate complete and full compliance with existing Reliability Standards. Assists in the development of presentations and training materials necessary to support sharing compliance related information across the company. Functions as a subject matter expert with Open Access Technology International (OATI) webCompliance software. Monitors the regulatory activities of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), NERC, and the REs as necessary to maintain awareness of changes in the regulatory environment. Support the enhancement and refinement of NERC reliability business processes, policies, procedures, and standards. Performs compliance spot checks to ensure NERC reliability requirements are properly and clearly addressed and audit trails are comprehensive and complete. Supports senior and principal analysts as needed. REQUIREMENTS  Reliability Assurance Analyst Bachelor’s degree in related field, or relevant equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance related activities such as compliance program development, administration, tracking and analysis and documentation development. Senior Reliability Assurance Analyst Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or relevant equivalent experience and/or education. A minimum of 5 years of work experience:  as an Electrical Engineer in the utility industry; or as an operator in a transmission control room environment  Active NERC certification preferred, and PJM is a plus. Exceptional written communications skills required, especially the ability to convey complex information clearly, concisely, and effectively in writing compliance narrative responses. Possesses the ability to write clear comprehensive business documents. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizes various power system analysis tools to study expected transmission system performance with emphasis on steady-state thermal and voltage analysis.  Performs and reviews steady-state thermal/voltage analyses for new load interconnection requests. Develops, tests and proposes new system capital expansion projects to mitigate potential system performance concerns or planning criteria violations. Coordinates closely with cross-departmental teams to develop project scopes. Supports RTO and RRO data submittals, regulatory filings, NERC compliance activities and development of contracts. Provides technical support to groups internal and external to the company.  Supports development of models to facilitate system studies. Leads development of internal and external analysis and documentation of various facets of the transmission system. Supports Department functions by monitoring and proposing enhancements to Planning processes to support Department objectives and deliverables. Attends meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skills. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education. Knowledge of electric utility system operations, planning, protection, design, construction and/or maintenance functions preferred. Minimum Experience: No work experience required for an Associate Engineer level.  Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in related area for an Intermediate Engineer level. Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in related area for Senior Engineer level Transmission Planning experience preferred. Direct or indirect knowledge of the MISO planning processes.  Ability to learn and utilize various power system analysis software.  PSS/E or TARA experience preferred.  Engineer candidates must be able to quickly learn job specific skills and be able to work independently given regular work direction while appropriately keeping others informed of activities and issues or potential issues.  Senior Engineer candidates must have advanced engineering skills and be able to work under minimal supervision given high level work direction while appropriately keeping others informed of activities and issues or potential issues.  Possess sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the company.  Ability to work in a team environment.  Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access).  Some travel may be required.
