JOB DESCRIPTION:The ServiceNow Discovery Administrator delivers day-to-day Discovery services to the organization and takes general direction from the ServiceNow Engineering Leadership team to deliver work products that support ServiceNow vision and roadmap.RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborate with clients and collaborators to understand their discovery requirements and translate them into ServiceNow configurations.Configure and manage the ServiceNow Discovery tool to identify and collect configuration items (CIs) across the IT infrastructure.Develop and maintain discovery patterns and probes to capture relevant information from diverse IT resources.Monitor the discovery processes to identify and rectify any performance or data quality issues.Provide guidance and training to users on discovery best practices.Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow features and enhancements related to discovery; recommending and implementing improvements to optimize the process.Resolving and troubleshooting discovery errors related to permissions and access.Create/ Monitor Discovery schedules for optimal performance and run-time.Assuring completion of scheduled discovery jobs.Reviewing the environment for changes and new requirements that may drive changes to the Discovery solution.Working to fulfill Service Management tickets as assigned.Engaging with strategic projects to determine impact on discovery and ensure discovery can deliver the required functionality within project timeframes.Identifying service improvement opportunities.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree or minimum of 6 years of related experience.Proven experience as a ServiceNow Discovery Administrator.Strong knowledge of discovery methodologies, protocols, and best practices.Familiarity with data modeling, network management and database management concepts.Active ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator, Certified Implementation Specialist or Certified Application Developer.Experience with ITOM, SCCM, AWS/Cloud, Mainframe and other related tools and technologies.Experience with integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST API, SOAP API, and other methods.Familiarity in JavaScript, Angular, and web technologies.Understanding of CSDM framework.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Accountability: Pays close attention to detail and accurately reports status of risk items.Communications: Communicates with transparency to all levels of personnelSelf-Starter: Works independently with minimal directionFast Learner: Learns quickly in a fast-paced environment.Works well as part of team.
