Core Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA lawsEscort patients to and from exam/treatment roomsTriage patients as necessaryAdminister vaccines and injectionsRecord patient data prior to the physicians visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changesObtain necessary patient records and verify consent prior to treatment or proceduresAssist physicians with exams and a wide variety of procedures, including but not limited to injections, dermatologic procedures, pelvic exams, EKGs, eye exams, managing dressings, POC lab tests, and performing x-rays (training provided)Administer medications orally, vaginally, rectally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, and intradermallyPrepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as neededMaintain proper disinfection protocolsSchedule patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointmentsComplete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imagingComplete all forms used by the provider, including but not limited to, growth charts, MPE, pap forms, cytology-pathology forms, etc.Phone in prescriptions and distribute proper medications as ordered by the providerOther duties as necessary Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, requiredAssociates degree in Medical Assisting, preferredOne of the following or similar qualification is preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Graduate of Medical Assisting Program (MA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)1-2 years of experience in a primary care/urgent care setting preferredBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification, requiredMust pass Avance Care Competency Check (Medical Knowledge Assessment and Vaccination Knowledge Assessment) What are we looking for?
