Macha is a small fine jewelry business with a DIY attitude based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Our store is relatively new and continually evolving. As store manager your key responsibilities areMaintaining high levels of presentation in store and of staff.Responsible for store sales and service, profitability, operations, loss prevention, talent acquisition, and merchandising.Ensuring store is fully staffed during opening timesMotivation & management of the store staffDeveloping processes & procedures to continuously elevate the customer experience, and overall growth of the business.This position is based out of our Greenpoint store, and over 50% of the managers time is spent on the shop floor. There are also opportunities to gain experience in other aspects of the business after store responsibilities are met.Detailed Responsibility ExamplesOperationsSupervising the daily operations of the store (ie. Opening/Closing, shipments, receipts, scheduling, floor coverage, website maintenanceCollaborate with manager in areas of risk management, store cash controls, inventory management.Understand and properly execute all management register functions. Solve related issues.Help plan & manage store budget.Collaborate with owner for deliveries, orders and shipments.Cross reference with owner to plan retail calendar.Manage store phone & email.Manage PR for loan in/outs if necessaryPlanning and forecasting for store and staff.Purchasing marketing, packaging and necessary products to ensure smooth functionality of the store & selling experienceStaff Recruitment and RetentionHire staff as needed and provide staff with store schedules.Organizes retail staff schedule, ensuring shifts are adequately covered. Assists in store staffing by recruiting, on-boarding, training & developing the best candidates.Ensure image and grooming standards of staff are professional, reflective of the brand and adhered to at all times.Serves as a role model and coach to ensure that all associates have a high level of product knowledge regarding target customers, product range and selling argumentsRecruit, train, and develop all store staff to ensure our teams are meeting our customer service standards, professional personal grooming and security protocols are metDeveloping training plans for new employees using company tools and knowledge while monitoring and maintaining existing staff's learning and developmentMaintains thorough awareness of policies, store operations and product knowledge; informs employees of any product updates, policy changes and other company communicationSupports, encourages, and develops staff to provide the highest level of customer serviceAssists sales associates with any customer service challenges or specific customer requests (i.e. dissatisfied customer, returns, damaged merchandise, customer orders) and has the capacity to know when to step in an escalated situation gracefullyMarketing and VisualsEnsure the maintenance of the store is completed.Ensure the store is neat, clean and organized inside and out.Implementation and maintenance of all visual merchandising.Helps the owner ensure a continuous updating and styling of the showroom to optimize sales, space management and presentation of the product range, according to brand guidelinesEvent management and marketing ActivitiesPartner with owner to manage retail staff projectsPartner with owner and volunteers for in store eventsManages marketing activities of store staffAssists in planning and implementing required marketing activities, PR and events according to overall Marketing Plan and activity guidelines to ensure a continuous traffic flowSales generationReview and plan business objectives to meet monthly/quarterly sales goalsProvide the highest level of customer service.Build and maintain repeat clientele.Implement systems to help retail associates maintain repeat clientele.
