The Safe Harbor Savannah Yacht Center is hiring a project engineer to support engineering and project management departments for shipyard operations and servicing of vessels. Candidates should expect to routinely interface with customers, subcontractors, and support personnel. This role is ideal for an engineer with maritime experience in a fast-paced shipyard environment. Successful candidates will be capable of engineering, planning, organizing, scheduling, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 2+ years engineering experience or practical knowledge of the project management discipline (through advanced education combined with experience). Experience/familiarity with the maritime industry, preferably experience with the yachting industry. Knowledge and experience with requirements, calculations and drawings for Classification Society and Flag review and approval. Requires a broad knowledge of naval architecture/marine engineering and an in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, and related technologies. Proficiency in using industry-standard CAD software, including AutoCAD and Rhino. Structural analysis experience with Finite Element Analysis software a plus. Experience in using GHS hydrostatics or similar vessel stability software a plus. Extremely organized and detail oriented. Leadership and problem-solving skills; the ability to take charge when necessary and evaluate situations and determine the proper course of action. Excellent written and verbal communication.
