Under the direction of the Operations Director of Critical Care/ Cardio Pulmonary/ Rehab Services and in coordination with the Medical Director of Pulmonary Services directs the daily clinical operation of the Respiratory and Pulmonary Rehab Departments. Schedules and assigns respiratory personnel. Ensures all services offered are performed within established policies and procedures.• Plans, directs and controls the work of the Respiratory: and Pulmonary Rehab staff.• Ensures all work, including patient care evaluations, are performed within established policies and procedures. • Participates in provision of care as needed.• Develops policies and procedures affecting the department and ensures that policies and procedures are adhered to at all times recommends changes in policies and procedures as necessary.• Orders, maintains and monitors usage of all supplies. • Assesses new equipment.• Assists in the development and presentation of in -service education programs to the respiratory staff, nursing staff and other departments as required.• Assists in the development and presentation of in -service education programs to the respiratory staff, nursing staff and other departments as required.• Attends hospital Department Manager meeting, - as well as other related Committees.• Works with BioMed Engineering to ensure that all equipment is in proper Operational condition and makes minor repairs/adjustments as necessary.• Collects information specific to Quality Improvement Dept. Pulmonary Rehab Respiratory Therapist - 14 hrs/wk, days

The MGB Salem Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is looking for a dedicated, experienced respiratory therapist to join our Pulmonary Rehab Team to help patients meet their individual goals.In addition to exercise training, Pulmonary Rehab provides education and support to our patients to help them improve and manage the physical and emotional stress of lung disease. Smoking cessation support and education are also provided by our pulmonary rehabilitation clinicians to help patients with their smoking cessation goals. Our team includes specially trained respiratory therapist, physical therapist, exercise physiologist, and nurse led by a pulmonologist medical director. The team shares a deep commitment to the long-term health of the patients by helping them learn ways to decrease symptoms, build their confidence and improve their quality of life. The Respiratory Therapist participates in all aspects of the program which includes assessment, education, exercise, and behavioral/lifestyle management. The Respiratory Therapist directs and coordinates care for patients based on established clinical and practice standards and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. This position reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.Qualifications High level of clinical abilities, organizational and analytical skills, Regularly demonstrates the ability to exercise independent judgment.
