We are currently seeking an Engineering Administrative Coordinator to work in our Miami, FL or Tampa, FL office to provide support during the preconstruction and project delivery phases of our work. Responsibilities Help liaison with precon and project managers as needed to identify and/or define project requirements, scopes, objectives, and required information. Communicate between Engineering/CAD to ensure submittals get completed on-time. Complete initial screen, help manage and assign workload, schedule kick-off meetings Review documents with team. Monitor and track project progress. Notify the team of any changes. Download documents (plans, specs, geotechnical report and addenda) from plan rooms and perform assessment to convey to team. Develop soil profiles, initial hand sketch sections, etc. Manage Design Requests (Update and Close-Out) Track and follow up on action items Manage meetings Track metrics Run basic calculations for ground improvement. Perform data entry and analysis of Load Test Data. Design, with guidance, structural components for M&C projects including seawalls, bulkheads, foundations, docks, piers, marinas, wharves, and mooring dolphins. Assist in performing structural analysis and calculations of M&C structures for new construction, expansions, and existing structural assessments. Includes modeling using industry leading software. Work with multi-disciplined teams on other M&C related projects. Participate in fieldwork that may include site investigations, surveys, data collection, monitoring, and construction oversight to verify conformance with contract documents. Assist with the creation, and review technical content for studies, reports, specifications, technical memorandums, and opinions of probable construction cost. Assist with creation of project proposals, scopes, budgets, and schedules. Stay current and informed on M&C market trends, client spending, assets, resiliency, and logistics. Participate in local technical and M&C related professional organizations. What you will bring to the team: BS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. Masters preferred. 0-4+ years of experience. Fundamentals of Engineering (EI/FE) preferred with goal to sit for Professional Engineer (PE) license when experience is achieved. Basic understanding of heavy civil, industrial, and coastal construction methods. Basic understanding of design and analysis of concrete, timber, and steel structures. Basic understanding of geotechnical engineering principals, foundation design, and field investigations. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Mathcad, and AutoCAD. Basic understanding of finite element modeling and nonlinear foundations, soil/structure interaction, staged construction, and lateral force resisting systems. Basic knowledge and experience with structural design and analysis tools such as SAP2000, RISA, LPILE, and Shoring Suite. Basic knowledge of engineering codes and guidelines. Good communication skills, both oral and written, including report writing. Ability to perform structural condition assessments and field investigations with guidance. Ability to communicate with a team of coastal engineers/ modelers/ environmental professionals/ stakeholders/ clients, in person and remotely across the globe.
