Responsibilities: Design and architect computer networks, including LANs, WANs, intranets, and data center networks, to meet business requirements, scalability needs, and security standards. Evaluate existing network infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and develop upgrade or migration plans to enhance network performance, reliability, and security. Lead the implementation and deployment of network solutions, including network hardware, software, protocols, and security measures, ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry best practices. Implement and maintain network security measures, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs, and access controls to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access. Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and optimize network configurations, bandwidth utilization, and Quality of Service (QoS) parameters to meet performance objectives. Maintain accurate documentation of network designs, configurations, diagrams, procedures, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Provide troubleshooting assistance, resolve network issues, and participate in on-call support rotations to ensure network uptime, availability, and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, security, operations, and project management to support network-related projects, initiatives, and technology integrations. Evaluate and select network hardware, software, and service providers, negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and oversee service level agreements (SLAs). Stay updated with emerging technologies, network trends, and best practices, participate in training programs, and share knowledge with team members to enhance collective expertise. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree). 5-9 years of experience in computer networking, network architecture, and network design, with demonstrated proficiency in designing and implementing complex networks. Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF), network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls), and network security principles. Experience with network design and modeling tools (e.g., Cisco Packet Tracer, Visio, GNS3) and network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds). Familiarity with cloud networking, virtualization technologies, SDN (Software-Defined Networking), and network automation concepts is a plus. Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail in network design and troubleshooting scenarios. Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred/Desired: Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certifications are desirable.
