Conduct intersection capacity analyses to assess the performance and efficiency of intersections. Additionally, perform traffic impact studies to evaluate the effects of new developments or infrastructure projects on traffic patterns. Apply safety engineering principles and use tools such as the Highway Safety Manual (HSM) and FHWA tools to assess intersection improvement projects. Familiarity with Crash Modification Factors (CMFs) will be important for this task. Be familiar with alternative intersection and interchange design solutions. Additionally, possess the knowledge and skills to evaluate and communicate the results of these designs to both technical and general audiences.
