JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for the daily care and supervision of the classroom and the children.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide for the care and safety of children in a loving, nurturing and supportive environment.Assist and supervise children during all activities throughout the school day. Prepare and implement childcare plans, classroom lesson plans/programs, organization and schedule.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with the appropriate age level endorsement issued by the CDA National Credentialing Program or a Children's Center permit issued by the state of California Commission on Teacher Preparation and Licensing.A minimum of 18 years of age and a current pediatric CPR and pediatric First Aid certification.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Twelve (12) post secondary semester or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education completed at an accredited or approved college or university and for infant teachers, at least three (3) of the twelve units must be related to the care of infants and toddlers. At least one year of work experience in a licensed day care center or comparable day care program.
