This role provides immediate supervision, direction and support to clinical and non-clinical departments within Billings Clinic, providing administrative presence and support in conjunction with and or in the absence of leadership team. Responsibilities include acting as an administrative resource and liaison to outside agencies such as law enforcement and the media, attending to patient and family issues, ensuring proper staffing, dealing with emergency situations and resolving problems while fulfilling the leadership role throughout the organization to ensure quality patient care. Responsible for coordination of requests for media calls, outside agency contacts, employee information, and/or requests from various funeral homes in the event of a patient/resident death. • Serves as a resource in the resolution of complex patient issues and complaints. Coordinates notification of appropriate personnel for special procedures, on-call staff including administration/management, tissue/organ donation and/or autopsy. • Conducts rounds throughout the organization making contact with physicians, staff and/or patients to facilitate effective patient care, organizational communication and teamwork. Evaluate situations immediately, takes action as deemed appropriate. Documents and reports to the appropriate members of the leadership team. • Coordinates and optimizes staffing needs based on staffing guidelines, anticipated and actual departmental activity, patient acuity, case mix and staff competencies. Works closely with Staffing Representative, Charge Nurses and Leadership when making staffing decisions. • Coordinates the admission, discharge and transfer processes to minimize divert and ensure appropriate patient placements to minimize transfers. • Responds and supports CPR team and STAT team. • Provides resource support and direction to employees who report on the job injury or illness. • Acts in a fiscally prudent manner and is committed to cost containment efforts. Under the clinical supervision of the Physician and general supervision by the Manager, the MOHS Technician assists in the delivery of patient care/treatment, performing laboratory/histology duties, and assisting with surgical procedures. Works collaboratively with the Physician and Dermatology staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, educational, and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Assists in the care of the surgical patient by performing the scrub role of handling instruments, equipment and supplies. The Mohs Technician has an understanding of the procedure being performed, anticipates the needs of the surgeon, maintains a sterile field and is responsible pre- and post-operatively for technical components of surgery. Follows established procedures for preparation of surgical specimens. Prepares mounts on slides and stains or treats tissue with chemicals so as to reveal specific structural details under microscopic analysis. Coordinates services for medical and non-medical care coordination needs that are episodic or longitudinal.• Receives referrals for elective procedure patients who would benefit from pre-discharge planning assessments and resource coordination.• Assists patients through care transitions from hospital to home, SNF to home/assisted living, or alternate setting per program guidelines.• Manages a panel of high-risk patients that require longitudinal education and support.• Effectively collaborates with Inpatient Care Managers and Social Service Care Managers to address the needs of shared patients.• Able to function effectively as a part of a team. Utilizing shared knowledge to address complex patient needs.• Supports Billings Clinic and community-based programs to advance the role of Outpatient Care Management, strengthen partnerships and meet department and patient needs.
