Review and document project requirements including reliability, redundancy, and functionality of the I&C system(s). Approve I&C design criteria, specifications, and standards, and adopt, and or verify that, these codes, standards, and regulations are followed when designing I&C systems. Develop innovative and efficient I&C designs, including control system architecture diagrams, network configurations, P&ID's, loop diagrams, cabinet drawings, and I&C wiring diagrams. Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success and client satisfaction. Conduct technical reviews and approve vendor documentation, purchase requisitions, price inquiries, and prepare Letter of Recommendations for I&C engineering packages. Supervise and coordinate work of I&C design team. Implement rigorous quality control processes to ensure that all I&C engineering deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Establish strong relationships with Minerals and Metals clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored engineering solutions. Participate in project review meetings and act as a point of contact for technical discussions and project updates. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers fostering their professional growth and development. Provide support during project construction, commissioning, and startup activities. QUALIFICATIONS Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, chemical or mechanical engineering or a related field. Master's degree is preferred. Professional Engineering (PE) license is required. 10+ years of I&C engineering experience, including 5 years of design experience working with an engineering firm, for minerals and metals projects. I&C design and engineering expertise in process related to Minerals and Metals such as Material Handling, Crushing, Grinding, Particle Separation and or Flotation Systems. Experience working with SCADA Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Understanding of process control theory including, Proportional Integral and Derivative (PID) control loops. Experience with functional specifications and control narratives. Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Smart Plant, Solid Works, AutoCAD), and experience with PLC and HMI configuration software. Experience with instrumentation applications for flow, level, temperature, and pressure measurement, and experience with instrumentation selection, specification, installation, calibration, and configuration.
